Meet Anna !
Volunteer at Cemea ConTatto Veneto, in Italy.
While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Italy, Anna put in place her own initiative of solidarity with “Rebuilding Our Outdoor Space for the Mother-Child Community”

For her CLIC personal project of solidarity, Anna created an outdoor lounge space for the mothers-and-children community. The project began with a visit to the farm of a colleague, where she and a few educators and children spent the afternoon exploring the fields, beehives, animals, and woodworking shop. At the end of the day, the farmer gifted wooden pallets that later became the foundation of the lounge.
Over the next two weeks, she and the children built the furniture at Casa di Anna (the children’s community),where they learned how to measure, drill, and assemble the wooden parts. Once completed, the pieces were taken to the mothers-and-children community, where educators and children helped sand, decorate, and arrange the outdoor area.
Anna considers the project a success because it created a welcoming space for relaxation and connection. Those who participated discovered new skills, creativity, and pride in contributing to something meaningful. The project also raised awareness about recycling and the value of natural materials.
Through this experience, Anna learned how to manage a project from start to finish—planning, coordinating, and involving others in the process. She grew more confident in her ability to take responsibility, ask for support when needed, and value teamwork. Most of all, she saw how creating something together helped people discover their own strengths and feel part of a shared achievement.

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
