Meet Diana !
Volunteer at Tallinna Päikesejänku Lasteaed, in Estonia.
While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Estonia, Diana put in place her own initiative of solidarity with “Friend of nature” !
For her CLIC personal project of solidarity, Diana organised a series of creative workshops for the two oldest groups of children in her kindergarten, participating in an exhibition during the kindergarten’s annual plant fair. Over six days, 41 children participated in activities such as making dreamcatchers from colourful threads and synthetic feathers, painting with natural dyes made from powders, fruit, and vegetables, and printing with potato stamps. The graduating class used the stamps to decorate paper bags, part of a kindergarten tradition in which during graduation day each child receives a bag filled with all the art they have made over the year. The other group printed t-shirts to wear as “staff” during the exhibition.
On the exhibition day, the crafts were displayed alongside an explanatory text in both English and Estonian. Around 80 parents and guardians visited the exhibition. Diana thinks her project was a success because it showcased the children’s creativity, connected with the theme of the plant fair, and showed new ways of using natural materials.
Organising the project strengthened Diana’s skills in planning, time management, budgeting, and anticipating participant needs. She learned to prepare materials efficiently, coordinate with teachers, and balance group sizes for smoother activities. The experience also highlighted the importance of communication and thorough preparation to ensure all participants could give their best. Overall, she feels proud to have created an engaging and inclusive event that brought children, parents, and the kindergarten community together.

Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
