Edneyze’s project in France – Au-delà de l’horizon

While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Clermont-Ferrand, Edneyze put in place her own initiative of solidarity.  She promoted a multicultural dialogue between young people aged between 16 and 30 living in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region and in São Tomé and Príncipe.

“São Tomé and Príncipe is my home country. As a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Clermont-Ferrand, which belongs to the region of Auvergne, I have the opportunity to get to know France and its culture better. I wanted to promote an intercultural experience for young people who, like me, would like to make a positive impact on the community through international solidarity.“

A partnership was established with the Instituto da Juventude de São Tomé e Príncipe, to put in place interactive online workshop between French and Santomean youth participants. The goal was to facilitate the dissemination of information, knowledge, and experiences around European projects, cultural diversity, and richness, including interactive workshops, debates, and popular education.

“Both the French and Santomean participants showed a high level of interest and enthusiasm. The discussions were meaningful and the youth from both countries actively participated in the workshops, demonstrating their engagement in cultural exchange. They shared experiences, reflected on cultural diversity, and discussed significant topics such as immigration and the core values of each culture.“

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with  the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate  in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European  Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a  strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
