Klára’s project in Austria – Flohmarkt

While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Vienna, Klára put in place her own initiative of solidarity : Flohmarkt

She organised a flea market in the kindergarten parklet to educate preschoolers about consumption, what you really need and recycling. “The idea is that you look for things at home that you no longer use and take them with you. Instead of throwing the objects in the trash, we recycled them, protecting the environment. During the morning, with the help of the children, we baked pancakes for the participants and prepared for the opening of the flea market. After sorting out the products, we were excited to welcome the visitors. Luckily, there were many things that the visitors took away with them.”

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with  the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate  in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European  Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a  strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
