Meet Lydia !
Volunteer at Võru Lasteaed Päkapikk, in Võru.
While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Võru, Lydia put in place her own initiative of solidarity : Little Gardeners : Growing Nature and Responsibility.
They built a garden bed on Talgupäev with help from the different kindergarten groups. The children learned about plants and gardening during morning circle time and planted seeds such as lettuce, radishes, and tomatoes. Both children and teachers participated in maintaining the garden.

The purpose of this project was to teach children about responsibility, collaboration, and gardening. In the project children learned patience and how to care for others. Building the garden bed and planting together brought parents, children, and teachers closer, strengthening community ties. Children learned to care for plants collaboratively, experiencing the results of shared effort.
” I gained organizational skills, strengthened my confidence in implementing projects, and improved my language abilities. The kindergarten benefited from an engaging learning experience for the children and a tangible garden bed that can be used for future activities. “

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
