Marina’s project in Estonia – Let’s make this more colourful

While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Lihula, Marina put in place her own initiative of solidarity : Let’s make this more colorful.

This project took place in one of the youth centers Marina worked in, in the Lihula Noortekeskus. The idea was to do little artworks and DIYs to bring in more color to the youth center such as little animal portraits with cardboard and old egg cartons. It was based on the obstacle of not being allowed to paint the walls but still bringing in some more color.

“We let the kids design a puzzle piece. We also did some art with sticky notes, we also painted some old movie posters in the design of Minecraft skins. We took some of our kids and youth and together we created a graffiti wall with some spray paint. Our canvas was old wallpaper that I cut to size.“

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with  the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate  in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European  Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a  strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
