Nicol and Elena project in Estonia – Colombian and German Cultural Event

While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Estonia, Nicoal and Elena put in place their own initiative of solidarity with a Colombian and German Cultural Event !

For their CLIC personal project of solidarity, Elena and Nicol organised a Cultural Evening showcasing German and Colombian culture at Kullatera Kindergarten in Tallinn, Estonia. The event was designed for the teachers of the kindergarten, and aimed to foster cultural exchange, strengthen community, and highlight the value of diversity in the workplace.

The evening combined cooking, interactive games, and cultural activities. The volunteers prepared traditional Colombian and German recipes with the teachers, then hosted a Kahoot quiz, a Colombian dance, and a multilingual language game in Spanish, German, and Estonian. The space was decorated with symbols from both cultures, creating a festive atmosphere that made the event welcoming and engaging.

Through this project, Elena and Nicol developed skills in event organisation, teamwork, and intercultural communication. They also deepened their knowledge of their own and each other’s cultures while gaining confidence in engaging larger groups. Overall, they feel proud to have created an evening that celebrated diversity, fostered solidarity, and strengthened community ties within the kindergarten.

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with  the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate  in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European  Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a  strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
