International volunteering is anchored in a long history of peace and intercultural education. For decades, young people from around the world gather on international volunteering group projects. Here below, we propose you to complete the different modules of an on-line training for “international workcamps leaders”.
All online modules can be used intuitively without any special technical knowledge or previous experience and are available to all workcamp organizations. We recommend using a blended learning format that combines the e-learning modules with live meetings. This one-line training was developed by four organisations – IBG (Germany-Coordination), INEX SDA (Czech Republic – promoter), CBB (Belgium-Promoter), LUNARIA (Italy-Promoter) – with the support of the ERASMUS+ programme and the german national agency

Module 1: Workcamp Organisation: “Step by Step”
In this module, an overview of an international workcamp and the tasks as a group leader are presented.
Module 2: Group Dynamics & Leadership
This module is all about group dynamics: How can the group leader work with and within the international group to become a strong team and have a great time together?
Module 3: Challenges & Conflicts
In this module we take a look at possible conflicts that a camp leader can encounter in the international group and work out how different conflicts and challenging situations can be managed during a workcamp.
Module 4: Risk Prevention, First Aid and Crisis Management
The aim of this module is to prepare group leaders to prevent accidents or crises during a workcamp and to react to them if necessary.
Module 5: Communication
In this module, basic principles and models of communication are presented and their application in workcamp situations, which are predestined for misunderstandings, are discussed.
Module 6: Social Justice
In this module, group leaders are invited to reflect on an aspect that touches all elements of international exchange: power and our actions for social justice.
