What challenge inspired this recipe?
To promote biking among volunteers, they should be informed about the local options to rent or buy a bike, as well as be informed about the local biking rules, so that they feel and are safe when biking. Additionally, as an incentive for volunteers to use the bike, we have the agreement with them, that they will get the monthly allowance (to buy a public transport ticket) from us anyway, no matter if in the end they choose to buy the ticket or to bike. In case of biking and not buying the ticket, they are able to save some money (normally use for the public transport ticket) and can use it for other purposes instead.

- Research local options for renting or buying (ideally second hand, cheap) bikes (local rental services, bike flea markets, etc.)
- Researching all local biking rules and guidelines
- Researching bike kitchens, self-repair places, etc. (so volunteers know where they can learn how to fix the bike in case something gets broken).
- Creating an overview of all the information for the volunteers
- Explaining the information to them
- If applicable, supporting them in getting and using a bike
