In Finland, it is possible to purchase a museum card for 76 euros. With the card, you can visit over 300 museums in different places in Finland for a year. The card is used very frequently by our volunteers.
Museums are educational institutions that offer valuable opportunities for learning about the history, science, art, culture, and technology of the country in which they are volunteering. This not only helps individuals understand the social context better but also assists volunteers in gaining a deeper understanding of the local culture.

This best practice can be implemented in many ways depending on the local context.

You can research your local possibilities for museum visits to see if there are equivalents for Finnish museum cards. If there is no possibility, you can encourage volunteers to visit museums at least once a month by reimbursing their visit.

It is also possible to research free local cultural events for every month and suggest them to visit. In many cities or rural areas museums offer days without the admission fee.
