What challenge inspired this recipe?
It’s really important for volunteers and their referent to easily communicate, on a daily basis. Having an online group to share general information is mandatory.
The medium can be a WhatsApp group, but it can be a Discord or whatever app suits the volunteers the best. Also it’s better than emails, because emails are too formal for younger people, less read.
Ingredients :
Smartphone, PC.
Step by step guide
First ask the volunteers which medium suits them the best, and make sure everyone has the means to access the media (maybe text messages are the best option if half of the volunteers don’t have smartphones for example).
Then send general information through the canal and check if everybody reads it at the beginning (with likes if read etc.).
And regularly discuss what’s the best way to communicate, maybe while using one tool the volunteers will want to change.
Important to highlight! The volunteers amongst themselves can also create their own groups of communication. At the beginning of their stay, because sometimes not all of them see one another regularly, the tutor can ask all the volunteers to share their phone number with the others. |
Before you start cooking, keep in mind…
Limits with this practice can happen if someone is not using a phone.
