What challenge inspired this recipe?
Most of the time, volunteers have a tutor who is in charge of administrative work, tasks etc. Then sometime this role isnt’ compatible (time, differentiation of the roles etc.) with supporting the volunteer in the ‘fun’ aspect of his/her stay. So it can be nice to have another referent who is more of a peer.
Ingredients :
The ‘official’ tutor can write down an information sheet on the assignments of the leisure referent. So as for them to both agree on the articulation between their roles.
Step by step guide
A ‘fun’ referent can be a young person related to the hosting organization (former beneficiary, member of the board..). In order to foster peer to peer cooperation.
He/she can support the volunteers with everything that has to do with leisure, in relation with the tutor. He/she commits to the duration of the volunteer contract, to be present and helpful. He/she can take initiatives to provide information, offer a night out, a tour of the city etc.
Important to highlight!Having more than one tutor is always a plus for a volunteer, but the roles and tasks are to be clearly defined. |

Sometimes its difficult for the tutor to also coordinate another tution. Idealy it’s an up on the quality of the support and time saving.
