The house or flat granted to volunteers is a common space. Certain rules can be mandatory for the organisation letting it to the volunteers.

Step by step guide
On arrival, the volunteer’s mentor shows the house, and explains the rules applying in it.
A specific contract which resumes all these rules is signed, and the volunteer must undertake to respect these rules.
In case of non-respect of the ruless, the mentor can refer to the contract. And take appropriate measures to impose sanctions, in the worst cases.
Important to highlight!A way to formalize the commitments of the volunteer is always nice. It’s a good way to know the framework and the demands of the hosting organization because it’s not always easy to figure out on its own because of the cultural difference (ex : taking off the shoes inside the house is almost mandatory in some countries, not at all in others etc.). |
