What challenge inspired this recipe?
Sustainable development and ecology are themes that are close to our hearts in our association, so we’re always trying to be mindful of our actions and to be eco-friendly. But it’s not always easy, or not always known/understood by everyone. So we came up with the idea of creating a visual to show some of the small everyday things we can all do. We noticed that a lot of people were concerned about ecology but didn’t know what to do or felt useless in this fight, so this visual is to show them that even the smallest things have an impact, hence the name.

Step by step guide
Ideally, the document would be hung up in the volunteers’ homes for everyone to see, and when a new volunteer arrives, it might be useful for an old volunteer to present it to the new one.
Putting it in the leaders’ folders when they go out on projects would also be useful, as they could present it when they draw up the charter with the participants. These are small gestures that can be implemented everywhere and by everyone.
Important to highlight! It’s a practice we’re already putting in place in one of our volunteer centres, with the old hands showing the new ones the ropes. |
Before you start cooking, keep in mind…
Explaining and showing everyone that they are capable of doing something for the climate can be a challenge.
Establishing a new habit can also take time.
