What challenge inspired this recipe?
Sometimes volunteers can feel isolated in their missions, or just want to see other new things in the network. So the lead structure can organize a ‘live my life’ week or couple of days.
Ingredients :
A small budget, a good time and organization from the lead coordinator.
Also being aware of the housing that can be offered (will the volunteers exchange their rooms also? or are there volunteer’s houses with some free space? etc.), and who will pay for the travels.
Step by step guide
The lead coordinator can call a meeting with the tutors to communicate about the idea, and see if they would agree to welcome a different volunteer (and with what type of conditions and when).
If there is an interest, the lead coordinator can identify the volunteers willing to ‘exchange’ their missions for a few time – through a short presentation of the initiative.
And then mix and match so as for the volunteers to be able to experience something different.
Important to highlight!If a week or a few days of exchange is too much and too difficult to organize, daily visits to one or more volunteer to another can be organized. |
Before you start cooking, keep in mind…
You should obtain tutor’s and more largely hosting organization team’s adhesion to the idea. Open-mindedness of the volunteers, willing to share their space and missions.
