Meet Sohla !
Volunteer at Sestante, in Italy.
While being a volunteer of the European Solidarity Corps in Italy, Sohla put in place her own initiative of solidarity : Intercultural linocut

For her CLIC personal project of solidarity, Sohla organized an intercultural linocut workshop at the headquarters of Xena in Padua on March 22nd, 2025. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the art of linocut printmaking in an accessible and engaging way while encouraging creativity.
Sohla began by explaining the techniques, tools, and step-by-step process of linocut printing. Each participant then created a design inspired by their own culture or personal story, carved it into a linoleum block, and printed it on a tote bag, which they got to keep after the activity.
The project created a space where participants could explore a new art form, express themselves, and experience a sense of accomplishment. It also contributed to Sohla’s ESC journey by allowing her to develop skills in event organization, workshop management, and guiding a group through a creative process. The experience helped her build confidence, improve her planning and coordination skills, and see firsthand how creative activities can inspire and connect people.

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
