Meet Tunc and Krenare !
Volunteers at Lääne-Harju Huvikeskus, in Estonia.
While being volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps in Estonia, Tunc and Krenare put in place their own initiative of solidarity : Padise Treasure Hunt.
Young people and children from 7 different settlements of Lääne-Harju County came together for the “Treasure Hunt” activity. Their task was to find various toy objects by solving puzzles and quests that the volunteers placed before in the forest. Tea, snacks and some food were served during the event. This event was at the same time in a “nature walk” format to appreciate and enjoy local nature at winter time. Snow made the event even more beautiful. However rather cold weather put some limits to the duration of this outdoor activity.
“All kids had a great time and were very excited and eager to solve the puzzles and quests to find the next spot. We succeeded in bringing together children of different ethnic groups from different places across the county, which was our main goal. They were so happy when found and got the hidden gifts. In total over 27 kids and 4 youth workers took part in this activity.“
Children from different ethnic and age groups and local places were interacting together to solve puzzles and quests to find the next spot. Through cooperation with “strangers” they could have practical experience and learn the spirit of solidarity. They also learned how to share gifts with others, make priorities and be respectful to each other.

This initiative was supported along the CLIC project. C.L.I.C. for “Coordinating Locally in order to Increase More Changes with the European solidarity Corps” is a cooperation partnership we participate in with 9 other like-minded organisations from 9 European countries. Together, we want to increase the impact and the visibility of the European Solidarity Corps in our communities, while providing young people with a strong educational value along their volunteering projects.
